I also think that the striking surface has alot ot do with it. I use a flat face billet so it has more surface contact. This makes my flakes realy fan out and remove surface flakes. Later Ed

I've never used copper boppers, but I do know that when I use my antler billets that I only need to lightly grind my platforms. Too much grinding and I can't get the flakes to release or the flakes...
